Client Role Setup

Choose which WordPress roles receive Client Calm’s simplified interface.

How roles work

Client Calm applies simplification rules to selected non-administrator roles. Administrators should keep the full WordPress admin experience for maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • Use WordPress Editor for content-only clients when possible.
  • Include Shop Manager only if the client manages WooCommerce operations.
  • Review custom roles from membership, LMS, or ecommerce plugins before enabling them.

Recommended setup

Create or identify a test account that uses the same role as your client before the final handoff.

  • Enable Client Calm for the client role.
  • Log in as the test user in a private browser window.
  • Confirm the user can still complete their required content tasks.

Admin safety

Do not apply client restrictions to your agency administrator accounts. Keep at least one known administrator account outside the client-facing workflow.

  • Verify admin users can access Plugins, Updates, Tools, and Settings.
  • Document the client role in your project handoff notes.
  • Re-check role behavior after installing large plugins.
